Synopsis:

Power is intoxicating. Like first love, it can leave you breathless. Princess Beatrice was born with it. Princess Samantha was born with less. Some, like Nina Gonzalez, are pulled into it. And a few will claw their way in. Ahem, we’re looking at you Daphne Deighton.

As America adjusts to the idea of a queen on the throne, Beatrice grapples with everything she lost when she gained the ultimate crown. Samantha is busy living up to her “party princess” persona…and maybe adding a party prince by her side. Nina is trying to avoid the palace–and Prince Jefferson–at all costs. And a dangerous secret threatens to undo all of Daphne’s carefully laid “marry Prince Jefferson” plans.

A new reign has begun….

Review:

Majesty picks up after the dramatic conclusion to American Royals. While American Royals was packed with drama and you didn’t know who to trust, Majesty felt a bit… stagnant. Everything in this one just seemed too easy. I wanted more of the intensity of the first book in this one, and it fell flat.⁣
I will say, I enjoyed watching relationships change and bloom. I really feel like Beatrice came into her own in this one and I am excited to see what the future holds for her. And of course, I’ll always love Teddy. Sam really seemed to do some growing as well. I couldn’t stand her in the first book and now I find her somewhat tolerable. Nina seemed a bit more subdued in this one, and I didn’t care for that. I quite enjoyed her character in the first one. Daphne is… still Daphne.⁣
I think my main issue with this one is that it felt like a bridge between the first and third books. But apparently, there isn’t going to be a third book? So we’re just left with this weird conclusion that feels like it is leading to something more but we won’t get to see it. Overall not a bad book – I just wanted more from it. ⁣
