Synopsis:

what an absolutely stunning debut novel. Love permeates each and every page of this story. Not a hot and heavy, lustful attraction.. but a beautiful and devastating kind of love that leaves you in tears when the story ends. ⁣
The story is told from Joel and Callie’s perspective. I loved each character so much. They were both their own, complete person and were magic when they are together. I enjoyed being a part of their journey and didn’t want the story to end. ⁣
I absolutely loved this book – even the parts that were hard and not how I wanted them to be. This is a romance I would recommend to die-hard romance lovers as well as those who don’t normally lean towards the romance genre.

Review:

what a page turner! I had a hard time setting this one down. The Shadows (or woods) were mysterious and creepy. Really, the whole book was eerie. I really enjoyed the characters, but as with The Whisper Man, there is no notated shift letting us know whose perspective we are viewing – is just a little shift in how the story is told, which took a bit to catch on to. ⁣
I also had a tiny bit of frustration with the twist at the end because it seemed to come out of absolute nowhere. I know what you’re thinking – “but Haley, shouldn’t a good twist come out of nowhere?” I mean.. yes. But aren’t the best ones where you can go back and see the little clues or references that make you go “ahhhh, now I see! Should have caught that sooner.. too bad I’m a dummy!”⁣
Overall, really enjoyed this one. And the overall conclusion was satisfying. If you loved The Whisper Man, you will likely love this one as well!⁣
